Derek Sherrod's style spectrum

Derek Sherrod looks great both dressed up and down.  Case in point, the "you clean up nice!" look:

and the "getting down and buff" look:

After seeing the Green Bay Packers guys all suited up in full pads week after week, it is nice to see how they dress down during practice and up for interviews.  I think I prefer the dressed up version of Derek Sherrod.  Can't beat a picture of a guy looking sharp!

Clay Matthews' Workout Style

It's no question Clay Matthews works out a lot.  Just look at the dude.

Ripped?  Yes.

How he gets there is plenty of time spent in the gym, but I was wondering what kind of workout style he selects once he's in there lifting weights and working on cardio.  Up above he's got a classic Nike black T, and just cut out of the picture are a pair of black gloves.  The hair is pulled back in a simply pony (?) and he looks ready to sweat.  Here's a few more pictures of Clay Matthews' workout style:

The black shirts and pony tails are there...just with an added headband.  So what do you guys think of Clay Matthews' workout style?  Thumbs up?  Is he operating with a Nike endorsement?  Look good in black?  Leave me your thoughts!

Eric Lair's Bling

Eric Lair, a young guy from the University of Minnesota football squad, joined the Green Bay Packers in 2012.  When checking out his U of MN bio, his picture caught my eye.

More specifically, the blingin' earring grabbed my attention.  Maybe other guys keep their earrings covered by helmets or long flowing manes, but I like how Eric Lair's diamond is right there for all to see.

Diamond or faux-diamond earrings were a big no-no among the males of a certain age in my graduating high school and college classes, but they certainly have become a stylish accessory among the younger generation.  I googled "NFL players with earrings" and came across a list of this lady's top five earring wearers.  Our very own Green Bay Packer, James Starks, even made the cut.  (A cushion cut?  Ascher?  Oh, I'll stop with the diamond puns.)

I'm wondering if Aaron Rodgers should jump on the earring bandwagon.  What do you think?

Tramon Williams's Wedding Style

Tramon Williams sure cleans up nice!

Wedding day.

He was married in 2009 to the love of his life, Shantrell, and together they make a beautiful couple.

This picture is really neat to be able to see the dressed-up style of the pair.  For a June wedding, this is a nice combination.  I like the white tux look, which not all guys can pull off.  I also like how the crisp whites in the dress and tux match well.  There are many different shades of white, which can make this a tricky situation.  But Tramon and Shantrell got it right.  Also cool are the blue accents, both his tie and boutonniere and her dress.  Very classy.  Though it could be even better if there was a little Packer gold and green mixed in somewhere....right???  :)

Will Blackmon's Wedding!

Twenty-four year old Green Bay Packers cornerback Will Blackmon took the plunge in June 2009. He married Shauna Danielle, an up and coming singer who originally was part of a group but is now going solo. Though their wedding photos haven't been published, I managed to rustle up an old Halloween picture of the couple when Shauna posed as Cleopatra and Will was King Tut.

I really hope they didn't don the same garb for their June nuptials though that would make for one crazy wedding day! The Green Bay Packers have been home to Will Blackmon for a few years, but Will Blackmon and Shauna are making their home in Los Angeles, California. That's the perfect spot for an aspiring recording artist and her pro athlete husband I suppose. In addition, Will Blackmon is starting his own clothing line called Dirty Couture.

I wonder if Shauna will get the hook-up for some Green Bay Packers tickets at Lambeau Field or if she refuses to tough out the weather. This couple is so interesting I can't wait to see what they're up to next!

Aaron Rodgers Stylin' Hair

Ok. We need to talk about Aaron Rodgers' hair.


My feelings are quite conflicted. This Green Bay Packers quarterback used to sport a mullet-esque style that can look either sultry or terribly outdated. In recent years he's cut it short, but I really hated that look. Check out his Green Bay Packers official bio to see what I mean. The bangs are better suited for a 4 year old girl. I'm just saying.

Should be bring the mullet back? (Cue Justin Timberlake sexyback music here.) I'm a product of my generation, which saw some hot long hair action in the likes of Scott Stapp from Creed...


...and Taylor Kitsch from Varsity Blues.


So I like long hair in that respect. But then again, Aaron Rodgers' is pushed back from his face and looks like a headband is fastening it back. It just might not be right for him.

How much does an NFL player care about their hair? I think a few guys get really into it and must chafe under the restriction of their helmets. Short hair might be more practical after all. Maybe Lambeau Field needs a hair consultant off the locker room to provide quick touch-ups before press interviews. I'm up for the job!

Daryn Colledge's Tats

I've seen some sweet tats in my day. Though I don't have one, I'm intrigued by those that get inked. And Green Bay Packers offensive guard Daryn Colledge has his fair share of detailed tattoos up and down both arms. Here's a look at the right one.

Yeah, I see Abe Lincoln on the tricep, too. I wonder what the story is behind that one. I give him points for geometric variety. We've got diamonds, diagonals, swirls, straight lines, and lots of interesting patterns. I wonder what his wife, Megan, thinks about all those pictures. I also wonder if he has any Green Bay Packers tats in the mix. He should! He has a bright future with the team and is a secure member of the Packers roster.

Maybe he should get a mock-up of Lambeau Field across his back. Why not?! If he gave me free Green Bay Packers tickets, I might be willing to get a #73 tattooed across my bicep.

Smile, Ryan Grant! Or Don't...

What's the deal with pro athletes lacking the ability to smile? After making an amazing dive catch in the outfield, a player will come up with the ball held triumphantly and lips forcibly pulled into either a scowl or neutral face. After a touchdown, a wide receiver might cross himself, spike the ball (gently), or even moon the crowd, but a smile? Forget it.

Green Bay Packers running back Ryan Grant may be one of the best examples of this I-can't-smile-because-I'm-too-tough mentality. Here he is looking tough on a night out on the town.

I don't think he has to go around grinning all the time and he probably wants a stern game face during games, but a smile always softens a face and shows some approachability after the game. Can't he do that occasionally off Lambeau Field? If you're reading this, Ryan Grant, flash me a smile sometime and I'll post it here. I'm sure many Green Bay Packers fans would love to see it!

Workout fashion with Danny Lansanah

So let's do a fashion study of Danny Lansanah. Why not? I picked this photo because I think Danny Lansanah's fashion here is spot-on. We have a tighter fitting, sleeveless t-shirt to keep him cool while also giving fans like me something to see in his muscular arms! It isn't loose and baggy to get in the way and also accentuates his shape.

As far as the shorts, I think they're an appropriate length. We don't have the massive bagginess of XXXXXXXXL basketball pant-shorts and we don't have the nasty speedo-esque briefs of a cross country runner. Just a slight-above-the-kneecap pair in a tasteful navy blue.

Something else that draws me to this picture is Danny Lansanah's use of crisp white gloves. They look really sharp! Danny Lansanah may have picked them because they come in handy for his linebacker duties on the Green Bay Packers, but I pick them because they look intense! I might want to slip on a pair for my next jog.

I was a bit uncertain about the socks. Strike one--they're black socks. But, I think he pulls it off. Standard sock length back in my day was halfway up the calf. But I see that Danny Lansanah is sticking with the current times and keeping it low. Keeping it real. I like it.

Of course, the outfit could be improved if it were in Green Bay Packers green and yellow, but he sure earns points for coordinating with the blue mats at the bottom and in the background of the picture. I'm sure he tried that, right?

Lightbulb moment! Maybe pro-athletes would LIKE someone to coordinate their workout clothes?! Could I be hired for this? Official title: Personal Shopper for Training Clothes of all members of the Green Bay Packers roster. This could be a whole industry. Time to start researching!
