Charles Woodson's Foundation

We all know and love Charles Woodson for his onfield performances, but it's his off-field work that has me liking the guy even more.  Charles Woodson started his own foundation (you can view his official online page here) and he's making a difference in the lives of people all over the country.

The Charles Woodson Foundation encompasses support for the C.S Mott Children's Hospital in Michigan, the Charles C. Woodson Scholarship, and the Georgia A. Woodson Scholarship.  Between these three enterprises, Charles Woodson has plenty to stay on top of.  The site is easy to navigate and features a sidebar that makes it easy to donate to his many causes.

So check our Charles Woodson's charity work today.  He's yet another stellar Green Bay Packer player!

Alex Green at the University of Hawaii

Hawaii is a honeymoon destination and hot vacation spot for the young and old alike.  But can you imagine going there to do serious studying?  How about playing a focused college sport in the tropical heat?  That's exactly what Green Bay Packers running back Alex Green opted to do for his college experience at the University of Hawaii.  Wow!

The University of Hawaii is a huge entity with seven community colleges and three university sites under its huge umbrella.  The school set up shop in 1907 and has served people all the way from associates to doctoral students.

Alex Green did well on the University of Hawaii football team and we're happy that he changed up his deep Hawaiian green jersey for that of a sharp green of the Green Bay Packers!

Diondre Borel's Hometown

Green Bay Packers player Diondre Borel hails from San Jose, California.  Does he look like a Californian to you?

Californian turned Utah-ian turned Wisconsinite!

Let's take a look at Diondre Borel's hometown.  Here are a few facts about San Jose:

1. It's the 3rd largest city in all of California.

2.  It was established in 1777---muy old!

3.  The record high temp is 114 degrees--not muy cold!

It's always interesting to see where our beloved Green Bay Packers call home.  As for Diondre Borel, you can find him in California in the off-season, enjoying that warm sunshine and the palms.

Mason Crosby's facial hair

Mason Crosby fields questions about his grooming routine.

In the picture above, Mason Crosby is flashing more than a skeptical glance at reporters gathered around.  He's also showing off his close-cropped beard.  

I'm not sure what to think.  Is this just Exhibit A of someone who skipped a few shaves?  Or is this an intentional grooming job with an electric razor?

The first theory means he's a laid-back guy who isn't going to let a professional NFL game dictate his shaving routine.  The second means he's a precise man with firm attention to detail.  These are important defining personality traits...all summed up in the beard approach!

Clue #1 lies in his sideburns, which are carefully cropped.  Clue #2 is in the eyebrows which are also defined.  In the end, I'm going with his beard-as-intentional-choice.  What about you?

One of the 90s kids....Green Bay Packers player Randall Cobb

Well, guys, it's happening.  The NFL is now home to players like Green Bay Packers' Randall Cobb who were born in the 90s.  In fact, Randall Cobb has the distinction of being the FIRST 90's baby to play in an NFL game.

Randall Cobb was just 9 when our country faced Y2K, probably doesn't remember days before the internet and cell phones, and is a part of generation Y.  We'll see what his youthfulness does for the Green Bay Packers this season!

What if Randy Moss and Dale Moss were brothers?

Watch out, NFL!  There's another Moss on the field.  

Greetings to you, Dale Moss.

Unlike Randy Moss, though, Dale Moss is still very new to football.  He focused on basketball throughout his sports career, playing four years for the South Dakota Jackrabbits and doing very well.  It wasn't until 2011 that he played for the football team and competed in 11 games.  On just that basis, Dale Moss was scooped up by the Green Bay Packers.  Nothing like a brief resume to get someone noticed!

What advice would Randy give to a fellow Moss man about succeeding in the NFL?  

Celebrating the 4th with Shaky Smithson

So Shaky Smithson and I don't actually have plans to celebrate the 4th of July together.  I mean, that would be fun, but we don't know each other so I guess that's problem numero uno. But if we were to celebrate the 4th of July, I thought we would kick it off with a bike ride down to a local parade.  He looks comfy on a bike, right?

After the parade, I'm thinking a big 4th of July BBQ would be perfect, especially if fellow Green Bay Packers players and family would be in attendance.  Maybe a game of pick-up football would be a good way to celebrate, too.  And no 4th of July is complete without a dazzling fireworks display...preferably all in Green Bay Packers colors!

Jarrett Boykin's Ah-mazing Arms

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jarrett Boykin has two tickets to the gun show and he's not afraid to take us all there with him.

What good is eye candy if it's not useful, though?  My guess is that with those arms, Jarrett Boykin could....

-  do 29.5 one-handed pull-ups.

Tim Masthay: Long or short hair?

Tim Masthay of the Green Bay Packers has tries a long and short 'do over the past few years.  Of course, the long hair dates back to his high school days.  Here it be:

Today, though, I'm glad to say that Tim Masthay has changed his style.  The only thing that's long now are those monster sideburns.

I think this is one of the best style decision Tim Masthay could have made.  Short hair is the way to go.  Don't you agree, Troy?

Graham Harrell's Football Crazed Family

Green Bay Packers football player Graham Harrell comes from a long line of football loving dudes. His grandpa was a coach and his father, Sam, was a high school football coach until retirement after the 2010 season.  In fact, Sam Harrell was the top earning high school football coach in all of Texas--the capital of high school football--while he was at Ennis High School.

Graham Harrell is not the only Harrell child with a passion for football.  His brother Clark was a quarterback for a season with the Tulsa Golden Hurricane.

We've seen sports themed families before (the first that pops into my head is the Mauer dynasty of Minnesota) so Graham Harrell's is no exception.  Watch for them in the stands of some Green Bay Packers football games this season!

Curenski Gilleylen's Unique Name

Remember in elementary school when all the kids with ultra-popular names had to also go by a last name initial?  Today some of my friends are still referred to as "Molly T.", "Katie A.", or "Justin P."  Along with Nicole, Kimberly, and Nick, I think those might have been the top names of my generation.  (Go ahead and guess my age now.  I dare you!)

That certainly is a problem that Green Bay Packers player Curenski Gilleylen certainly did not face.  How many Curenskis were in his elementary school?  I'm willing to bet the farm that's a big fat zero.  In fact, the entire nameberry.com website hosts a big fat zero of Curenskis, too.

Oh well.  If Curenski Gilleylen performs to the best of his ability with the Green Bay Packers this season, a future generation may see a handful of little Curenskis in his honor!

Mason Crosby's Best Side

But then, we change the angle of the picture, zoom in real close, catch him in the middle of an interview, and--BAM!--there we have it!  Green Bay Packer hotness!

Donald Driver Wins Dancing with the Stars

Shiny trophies are not new to Donald Driver. He added another one to his collection recently, taking home the coveted mirror ball trophy Tuesday night on “Dancing with the Stars.” 

Runner-up Katherine Jenkins and third-place finisher William Levy also performed on Tuesday.

Some viewers were surprised by the win, but here at Packers Badgers, we know a winner when we see one (so do the Packers!). Driver was dubbed by the judges as a dancer with “great physique, great posture, great presence”.

Wisconsin Declares "Aaron Rodgers Day"

The State of Wisconsin, sometimes known as Packer Country, wants fans to celebrate the success and talent of Aaron Rodgers. To fuel the celebration, Wisconsin set aside on day a year in honor of the amazing quarterback.

What does Rodgers think? He wants fans to celebrate his special day by wearing a championship belt. 

December 12, 2012 is Aaron Rodgers Day in Wisconsin. The date, 12-12-12, occurs once every 100 years. Aaron Rodgers, the reigning NFL most valuable player, wears No. 12.
